“Nobody knows it, but you’ve got a secret smile, and you use it only for me…” -Semisonic

There is a vision, rare and beautiful
So much so, that to see it once is amazing
Any more than that, you feel spoiled
Gluttonous in witnessing this gift from the gods

The first time I saw it, I knew
I would remember that vision forever
The last time, last night
Brought with it the feeling again, just as if not even stronger now

Her outward smile is a shooting star
Beautiful, sought after by everyone
But an occurrence common enough
To be “merely” enjoyable

She has another smile
So pure, so rare
To catch it is to win the grandest of all prizes
Not only does that smile form across her lips
But her eyes, her face
Her entire body smiles and welcomes you in
With warmth and light like you were meant to be there all along
For a moment you are lost as the world around you stops and fades

Leaving only this vision
This Halley’s Comet
And then it passes
For the moment
But never
From your mind
